microsilica is the most active one of the hpc active mineral admixtures, and its main component is active sio2. microsilica particles are very small (10~100nm) and have high dispersion. the effect of silica fume on hpc strength is as follows: filling effect, volcanic ash effect and pore solution chemical effect. when the concrete is mixed with hpc with microsilica, the compactness of hpc matrix is increased, the bonding strength between cement paste and aggregate is improved, the adverse effect of ca(oh)2 on hpc strength is reduced, and the harm of asr on hpc is weakened. generally, the content of microsilica in hpc is 5% ~ 15%, and the optimal amount is about 10%. the durability of concrete includes impermeability, chemical resistance, rust resistance and abrasion resistance.
in recent years, a new type of impact abrasion resistance material - hf high strength wear resistant fly ash concrete (hf concrete), as with microsilica concrete is resisting impact, abrasion and cavitation erosion resistance, and overcome the microsilica concrete is easy to crack and the disadvantages of the construction difficulties, has been a big success in engineering application, proved to be an accord with primarily prevent both excellent anti-wear cavitation erosion resistance and can satisfy the high speed flow pulsation pressure and dynamic water pressure for its own stable protective materials.
high performance microsilica concrete has high fluidity, good adhesion, no segregation, no delamination and excellent construction performance. hardened concrete is of high strength. since strength is the most basic performance of concrete. low strength ordinary concrete cannot be considered high performance concrete.
but this does not mean that ordinary concrete should be ignored with good construction performance and adequate durability. in conclusion, although adding microsilica can greatly improve the pumping performance of aluminum and magnesium wet shotcrete, this study found that when the amount of microsilica is low, other properties of the material are better, such as:
1) anti-erosion and anti-spalling.
2) the sintering shrinkage is inhibited due to the reduction of sintering property;
3) higher bending strength at high temperature.
